There's only THREE weeks left!

Hey, Hey, Hey, Everyone!!

It's been such a crazy week this week doing some more dev work on Powersink, our team have been planning our 'sprints' (objectives we need to reach each week) for the next three weeks. This is because... we only have three weeks left of the semester! :(

We have packed a WHOLE lot into our sprints so get ready for some ~chonky~ content in this blog! :D

We will start off with Triton and what he has been up to this week :)

Hello friends! This week I’ve been working on our boss again but this time I finished modelling it so yay! In terms of what I’ve been up to, I’ve been working on UV unwrapping the model and working on adding in some more finer details using ZBrush so I can bake in some normal maps just to get our boss looking extra fine when he is complete. I should be finished with him by the weekend and once I’ve done that, I will start working on modelling the fishes. Only 3 more weeks until the final submission of our game but fear not, there will be more work to be done until we hit the Murdoch showcase so looking forward to that! Any who, that’s all from me folks, ill keep you updated same time next week!

That's awesome Triton! So keen to see the finished model of our boss. And now, we're gonna hear from Luke about what he has been up to in this hectic week!

Hello again! The last week has been pretty fun I wont lie. I more or less finished off our option menus including sound & a couple screen settings and I started then finished probably one of the best things I've made, the diver ragdoll. It isn't perfect by any means but it takes a frustrating part of Powersink and makes it just that bit more enjoyable and fun. Next I'll be moving onto the cutscenes and probably will be working on the programming for our boss. Anyways, that's all from me for this week!

Wow Luke! That ragdoll is looking great! So keen to see it in person next week :D

And lastly, you'll get to hear from me, Tash.

This week has been a little crazy, I've been typing up this very blog, I've also been working on the caustic textures which had to undergo about 3 different changes in resolution, and blurriness as once the textures were implemented they became quite pixelated and didn't look as ~aesthetic~ as we wanted. After the caustic textures were completed I started working on some random icons for our game icon! They're a little rough around the edges but just concepts so we can brainstorm and solidify an option before we spend a lot of time on it :) At this point in the semester it's all about saving and utilising time wisely! :) I've also been looking into UI options for our game but probably not as in-depth as needed since I've had so much on from other units. That's pretty much it from me!

This week has been a lil' chaotic but all around so fun and has been a great opportunity to learn more about our game and how to create different aspects such as models, textures, code, and of course our ragdoll.  :')

Thankyou so much for taking the time to read our blog! We appreciate every one of you for your support and also your comments! They mean a  lot to us and we are always striving to do better in our degree and our overall skills. If something has stood out to you whilst reading this blog we'd love to hear about it in the comments!

Thanks again everyone! Keen to keep you all up-to-date in the weeks to come! :D
