It's the end of semester!

Hey Hey Everyone!

Guess what? It's the end of semester two! :) We've been hard at work this week to finalise our boss levels, gather all our content for our marketing stuff, and begin to plan our trailers for Powersink! It's been crazy hectic and I'll let Luke kick us off with stuff that he's been working on this week.

Hey guys! This week is our last week of working on Powersink before we submit the End of Semester 2 build and as such, we’ve been working on implementing the Boss Level and all the stuff we’ve made for it. I’ve been working on the Unity-side of things, implementing the tech and puzzle designs. As a little teaser, here’s a couple screenshots from the Boss Level.

That’s all from me this week. Thanks again so much for reading and I hope you’re ready to meet the Cube.

That's so awesome Luke! Loved watching our boss levels start from small plans and end up looking so much more better than expected in game!

Now we will find out what Triton has been up to this week :)

Hello friends! This week is our last week for the semester and honestly, I’ve enjoyed the work our team has done since the beginning of our journey, and I suppose it’s quite bittersweet knowing that this is the last blog. Anyways let’s get down to business, for this week, I have been working on baking in our lighting for our game and oh my days it takes forever to bake in Unity. Each level takes around 3 hours at least to bake and there have been times where Unity just crashes, and I have to start the process all over again… In addition to this, my final job before the end of this unit is to create a graphics package for our game, meaning I need to grab some of our models and render out an image. I still haven’t done any of that yet due to a certain Unity taking forever to bake the lighting. I will finish everything before Sunday hopefully and I want to thank everyone for supporting us and I want to thank my team for being awesome as always. Anyways, that’s all from me folks and adios amigos!

Thanks Triton! It is such a bittersweet moment knowing that this is our final blog for the semester... how's everyone been finding these blogs? If enough people have been enjoying learning about what we do here at Powersink, we might be able to continue these blogs right up until the Murdoch Student Showcase! (26th of November) So if you are enjoying these weekly updates please let us know in the comments and we might be able to continue this going right up until the showcase :)

Anyways, this week I, Tash, haven't been up to much due to being incredibly sick (worst time of the semester, I know!) But I've started putting together the press kit, wiring this blog, and planning out the trailer video for Powersink too! I'll probably be putting everything together and finalising content tomorrow to do with the press kit and other marketing things for Powersink. It's kinda crazy how far we've come since day one of this project, how much closer we've gotten as a team due to the obstacles we've faced, and the victories we've had. I can gladly say that i wouldn't have wanted this unit to go any other way. Team Kitchen Sink for life!! (okay maybe that was a little too far :'))

Anyways that's it for us here at Team Kitchen Sink, remember that there are other blogs of earlier development so go check them out if you're bored! Thankyou so much for reading this blog every week and being as much a part of this journey as the rest of us, if you'd like to hear more on what we do, make sure to comment and let us know!

Thanks Everyone!

Team Kitchen Sink
